NORTHWEST FLORIDA BEACHES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT UNVEILS NEW TERMINAL EXPANSION PROJECT

Dec 9, 2020 | News

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The Northwest Florida Beaches
International Airport (ECP) unveiled its brand-new Terminal expansion on Wednesday
with a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by ECP Board Members, Staff and partners.
The 7,000-square foot Terminal Expansion will relocate Gates 6 and 7 and ultimately
provide either ramp loading or passenger boarding bridge opportunities. American
Airlines will be operating at one gate and the other will be utilized to accommodate
increased future demand. The multi-million-dollar expansion features close to 250 more
seats, giving additional room for Airport growth and addressing passenger travel
demands.

“We have tried to anticipate the future demands of our airline partners by enabling the
Airport to be ready to accommodate more flights, different aircraft and destinations in
the future,” said Parker W. McClellan, Jr., A.A.E., ECP Executive Director. “This new
Terminal expansion provides the additional space needed to accommodate the demand
of today and in the near future.”

The $5.8M Terminal expansion was an economical and smart way to quickly and
efficiently meet the growing demand ECP sees among passengers and airline partners.
As a modular building, this allows the Airport the flexibility to move the structure in the
future, if need be.

The Terminal expansion is anticipated to be ready to welcome passengers in early
August.
