AUSTIN, TEXAS – October 2025 marked a milestone for Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), with 2,086,037 total passengers during the month, representing an 8.92% increase in passenger traffic compared to October 2024. This record-breaking total makes October 2025 the busiest month in AUS history, a record previously set in May 2024 with 2,068,404 total travelers. The airport also set a new single-day record in October 2025 with 45,048 departing passengers screened by TSA the Monday following the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix event held at Circuit of the Americas.
These milestones come as AUS advances its largest expansion program in history, Journey With AUS, which, upon completion, will add more than 20 gates with the new Concourse B, expand the Barbara Jordan Terminal with a new Arrivals and Departures Hall that will feature a centralized TSA checkpoint, new baggage claim, improved roadways, and closer rideshare pickup.
AUS is currently working with airline partners to finalize funding agreements for the expansion, which will be funded through airport revenue, airport revenue bonds, and Federal Aviation Administration grants. No City of Austin taxpayer dollars are used for airport expansion projects.
