(Ontario, California – February 25, 2025) – Ontario International Airport (ONT) recorded its 47th consecutive month of passenger growth in January as volume increased by 1.2%.

The number of air travelers who chose the Southern California gateway last month totaled more than 475,000 compared with 469,000 in January 2024.

Ontario’s domestic passenger count reached almost 435,000, a 2.4% increase, while international volume decreased 10% to slightly more than 40,000.

“We’re kicking off the new year with incredible momentum, welcoming even more travelers than we did last January,” said Atif Elkadi, chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA). “With exciting new air service announcements from our airline partners, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of growth, opportunity and expanded connectivity for our community.”

ONT is set to welcome numerous new travel options this summer, including daily flights to both Baltimore/Washington (BWI) and Chicago/O’Hare (ORD) on Southwest Airlines and United Airlines, respectively.  The airport also is gearing up for several new international options, with STARLUX Airlines set to launch four-times weekly service to Taipei (TPE) in June, and Volaris starting new routes to three additional cities in Mexico in July, including a daily flight from ONT to Los Cabos (SJD).
