ORLANDO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT GETS INCREASED UNITED AIRLINES SERVICE TO BOSTON, CLEVELAND AND NEW YORK

Jun 15, 2021 | News

ORLANDO, FL. – Passengers looking for a winter getaway to sunny Orlando will find increased
service into the region after United Airlines announced plans to add daily nonstop flights from
some of the region’s top destinations.

“We appreciate the action by United to increase air service between Orlando and destinations
like New York, Cleveland and Boston,” said Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater
Orlando Aviation Authority. “By adding two daily flights to each market during the holidays,
United is showing confidence in the local market – something we think will prove beneficial for
both arriving and departing passengers.”

In 2019, United Airlines carried a total of 4.13 million passengers to and from Orlando
International Airport, accounting for 8.2 percent of the airport’s total passenger traffic for the
year. The airline, which first started service in Orlando in 1978, currently offers air service to
Chicago/O’Hare, Denver, Houston/Intercontinental, Los Angeles, Newark, San Francisco and
Washington/Dulles.

Beginning Nov. 6, on peak demand days United will operate twice daily nonstop flights from
Orlando to Boston and New York/LaGuardia and a once-daily flight to Cleveland, Ohio. On Dec.
17, the Cleveland service will increase to twice daily peak day service and the Boston and New
York/LaGuardia routes will operate twice daily all week.

The new schedule will operate through January 10, 2021.

“The addition of these new flights represents United’s largest expansion of point-to-point, nonhub
flying and reflects our data driven approach to add capacity where customers are telling us
they want to go,” said Ankit Gupta, United’s vice president of Domestic Network Planning. “We
look forward to offering customers in the Midwest and Northeast more options to fly nonstop to
Florida this winter.”
