Students will explore career paths in the aviation industry
About 200 high school students from Washington, D.C., Arlington and Fairfax County public schools will visit Reagan National Airport on Thursday to explore potential career paths within the airport and in the aviation industry. In collaboration with the American Experience Foundation, the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority’s Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Social Impact is hosting the Workforce Development Expo to inspire the next generation of airport professionals and showcase the Airports Authority’s job opportunities and the Skilled Trade Apprenticeship Program.
Students will hear from representatives from the Airports Authority, the Federal Aviation Administration and other companies that operate within the airport. They’ll also have the chance to visit the airport’s fire station for demonstrations by the public safety team, featuring the SWAT and motorcycle units, and special fire apparatus unique to the airport.
Through its outreach events, the Airports Authority is committed to promoting access to career opportunities within the transportation and aviation industry.
