The data-driven airport compactors were uniquely covered in custom waste and recycling graphics as part of the airport’s sustainability initiatives and are placed strategically throughout the terminal to compact waste at its source. SmartPacks are equipped with Insite Technology, a wireless text/email system, which alerts staff when a compactor is partially full, full, or requires service. “This allows staff to manage trash on a ‘just-in-time’ basis, freeing them up for other, more important duties”, according to Harmony’s New Business Development Manager, Lane Powell. Insite also provides customizable scheduled or on demand reporting of percentage of fullness of each compactor, maximizing compactor usage and staff scheduling. Insite can be seamlessly integrated into existing data network systems using our secure API libraries that include enhanced security against external threats.
