SOUTHWEST FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT REPORTS APRIL TRAFFIC

FORT MYERS, Fla. (May 21, 2018) – During April, 939,957 passengers traveled through Southwest Florida International Airport in Fort Myers, Fla., a decrease of 9 percent compared to April 2017. Year-to-date, passenger traffic is up 5.2 percent from the same period last year.

The traffic leader in April was Delta Air Lines with 194,114 passengers traveling to and from Fort Myers. Rounding out the top five airlines were Southwest Airlines (182,003), American (135,119), JetBlue (130,437) and United (105,034).  

Southwest Florida International Airport had 8,049 aircraft operations, a decrease of 13.8 percent compared to April 2017. Page Field saw 8,007 operations, an 18.4 percent decrease from April 2017. In addition, nearly 2.6 million pounds of air freight moved through Southwest Florida International Airport in April 2018. 

Southwest Florida International Airport served more than 8.8 million passengers in 2017 and is one of the top 50 U.S. airports for passenger traffic.
