The Spirit Charitable Foundation commemorates the new service with a $10,000 student scholarship donation to Trade Winds Aviation flight school in San Jose. Trade Winds’ Professional Flight Program is an affiliate school option for students pursuing a BS in Aviation at San José State University.
SJC and Spirit are also celebrating the new service with a celebration in the terminals, including a marching band procession to the departure gate to welcome the first passengers, and a social media sweepstakes with chances to win tickets from Spirit.

Up to one (1) entry per social media post per person. There will be three (3) social media posts/opportunities inviting a chance to win per valid social media platform [Facebook, Instagram, TikTok]. Up to nine (9) entries per person combined.
The entry period will close on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. PDT.
Three (3) winners will be randomly selected by SJC. Winners will be contacted by email within 10 days. The randomly selected winners will have 48 hours to respond to SJC to claim their prize. Prizes will be provided and distributed by Spirit Airlines. If a winner fails to respond within the 48-hour window, that winner will forfeit the prize and a new winner will be randomly selected.
