The goal is to redevelop non-aeronautical use for this 315-acre area
ST. LOUIS, MO (September 16, 2024): The St. Louis Airport Authority is issuing a public Request for Proposals (“RFP”) for the redevelopment of the West Carrolton Development Area. This approximately 315-acre area was formerly a residential subdivision. In the 1990’s and early 2000’s, as part of St. Louis Lambert International Airport’s (STL) expansion, this section of real estate was purchased using local and federal funds as a part of a noise abatement program. After acquiring the land, structures located on the land were demolished.
Now, STL seeks to solicit proposals through the RFP process from developers that will contract to lease and redevelop the property in support of the highest and best land use. This use could be for commercial or industrial purposes, or one that provides a supporting role for other airport operations. Those planning to submit a proposal need to be aware that other terms and conditions may be developed in response to specific plans and incorporated into agreements. While the RFP seeks the redevelopment of a property approximately 315-acres in size, multiple proposals may be considered as part of a combined approach to be selected by STL.
