Public Invited to Vote Through Friday, March 6
TAMPA, Fla. – Tampa International Airport is aiming to clean up in the 2026 Spotless Spaces of the Year Awards! The airport and its custodial partner, Flagship Facility Services, have earned national recognition as one of nine U.S. finalists competing for the coveted title of “Spotless Space of the Year.”
The ISSA Spotless Spaces Competition celebrates teams that go above and beyond to create safe, healthy, and accessible environments—from sparkling floors to inviting spaces that make travelers feel right at home. Voting is open now through Friday, March 6, with winners to be announced Sunday, March 22.
TPA faces tough competition from other top U.S. facilities, including the American Museum of Natural History, the John G. Shedd Aquarium, the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the University of Maryland College Park. Nine additional international finalists—from sports arenas to metro stations and universities—will also vie for the global title.
Flagship Facility Services has proudly partnered with TPA for more than a decade, maintaining every part of the airport—from the Main Terminal and Airsides to food courts, restrooms, carpets, and hard floors. The Flagship team’s comprehensive cleaning program ensures every surface meets the highest standards, enhancing the travel experience for millions of passengers each year.
Their success is fueled by teamwork and technology. Dedicated Quality Control inspectors monitor cleanliness on every shift, while Flagship’s advanced Quality Control platform streamlines inspections, reporting, and performance tracking to maintain consistent results throughout the airport. Tampa International Airport employees also contribute by promptly reporting spills or litter, reinforcing the airport’s commitment to a clean, welcoming environment.
