ATL’s fight against this crime and to protect the vulnerable to air Nov. 18 and Nov. 26 on Lifetime
Atlanta, GA – Every day, every employee at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) actively makes it clear that humans are not for sale.
That is the message conveyed during Lifetime Network’s The Balancing Act. This impactful episode – airing on Monday, November 18, and again on Tuesday, November 26 (7:30 a.m. ET, respectively) – will discuss combating human trafficking at ATL, the world’s busiest and most efficient airport. It will also engage audiences in critically discussing protecting vulnerable individuals and enhancing security measures in one of the nation’s essential gateways and largest travel hubs.
Hosted by Beth Troutman, she interviews a dynamic team of experts and community leaders, including Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, as well as ATL and community safety advocates like Interim General Manager Jan Lennon, Airport Police Major Kelley Collier, Assistant General Manager Candace Brown, Assistant Director Joy Brown, Eliza Reock from youthSpark, and Donna Hubbard from Woman at the Well. Together, they will share insights on the airport’s comprehensive strategies to prevent and respond to trafficking situations, support victims, and engage the community in awareness and proactive action.
“In addition to our robust security measures at ATL,” said Jan Lennon, Interim General Manager of ATL, “we have also enhanced awareness by continuously training our staff, local schools, and community and civic organizations to recognize warning signs and report potential crimes.”
“As a gateway to the world, Hartsfield-Jackson is dedicated to combating criminals who prey on our most vulnerable populations. This is why our messaging and mission unequivocally state that humans are not for sale — not in our country, our state, our communities, our airport, and certainly not on our watch.
Viewers will learn how the Airport and the City of Atlanta spearhead effective measures and foster collaborations across agencies and organizations. With the expertise of advocates like Reock and Hubbard, the episode highlights preventative and supportive efforts designed to meaningfully impact human trafficking locally and globally.
ATL continues to set the standard for operational excellence, and this episode demonstrates its leadership in combating human trafficking within its borders. The airport exemplifies how communities can come together to address this global issue through training initiatives, partnerships with local organizations, and a commitment to security and compassion
