The City of Minot Announces Airport Director

MINOT, ND – The City of Minot has named Jennifer K. Eckman, A.A.E., as Airport Director. In this role, Ms. Eckman will plan, implement, and supervise all activities at Minot International Airport (MOT), including airport safety, business administration, infrastructure maintenance, and regulatory compliance. She will begin her new position on October 4, 2021.

Ms. Eckman is an accomplished manager with 17 years of demonstrated excellence in aviation administration, airport operations, project management, finance, marketing, communication, and promotions. Most recently, she was Project Manager for Northern Plains UAS Test Site where she oversaw research projects designed to integrate unmanned aircraft systems into the National Airspace System. Previously, she was Airport Real Estate Specialist with the Paine Field/Snohomish County Airport and worked directly with tenants, potential clients and management in contract and lease administration. Ms. Eckman also served as Deputy Airport Director for Finance and Administration for the Rapid City Regional Airport and was the Airport Manager at Jamestown Regional Airport.

“The airport’s potential for growth and development makes it a shining star for the Magic City,” said Ms. Eckman. “I am enthusiastic to join the team in leading it into the future. I am also extremely excited about working with and developing the teams at the Minot International Airport.”

Ms. Eckman earned her bachelor’s degree in Aviation Business Administration from the University of North Dakota and a master’s degree in Fine Arts from California State University. She is also an Accredited Member (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives and is former Secretary/Treasurer of the Airport Association of North Dakota.
