Via Air Announces Tucson Flights Nonstop to Austin Starting January 18

Via Air, a Florida-based airline, announced Wednesday (November 15) it will be coming Tucson International Airport with nonstop flights to Austin, Texas beginning January 18.

To introduce the new service, Via Air is offering a special one-way fare of $119. Details about the service and the special fare are online at www.flyviaair.com. The introductory fares will be available until 11:59 p.m. November 28 and may have limited availability.

Service to Austin will operate Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays aboard 50-seat Embraer ERJ-145 jets. Via Air’s planned schedule: 

“This a very exciting announcement for Tucson International Airport,” said Tucson Airport Authority President and CEO Bonnie Allin. “This is a tremendous opportunity to bring the cultures and economies of Austin and Tucson closer together.”

This announcement increases the number of airlines service Tucson International Airport to seven, serving 19 nonstop destinations.

TAA has sustained its operations since its origin in 1948 from airport generated revenues without the use of local taxes, and continues to invest millions of dollars each year in safety, security and facility infrastructure that drives job creation and economic activity for the benefit of Tucson and southern Arizona. The two airports currently support 35,000 jobs and house more than 100 tenants, and serve a diverse mix of both aviation and non-aviation related businesses, as well as military and government operations.
