Avianca Launches Operations for Routes Bogotá – Tampa, Fort Lauderdale – Medellín, San Juan – San José, and Miami – San José

The first flights for the Tampa-Bogotá route took off with four weekly frequencies, San Juan-San José with three weekly operations, and Fort Lauderdale-Medellín and Miami-San José with a daily flight per week.
These flights are operated on Airbus A320 fleet aircraft, with a capacity for 180 passengers, totaling 1,400 seats on the Bogotá-Tampa route, 1,080 seats on the San Juan-San José route, and 2,520 seats on the Fort Lauderdale-Medellín and Miami-San José routes.
Customers who wish to purchase their tickets can do so via avianca.com, mobile app, Contact Center, and travel agencies.

Alstom signs a seven-year contract extension to operate and maintain John F. Kennedy International Airport’s AirTrain in New York

With nearly 25 million passengers carried last year, the JFK AirTrain is a vital part of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s (PANYNJ) efforts to reduce traffic congestion at the airport
Alstom has designed and built the JFK AirTrain and has been providing operations and maintenance services for it since 2003
The contract extension with PANYNJ is valued at approximately $518 million USD (approximately 479 million euro)
Over 230 Alstom employees will be retained to support the APM System.

February 2025: Colorado Springs Airport Monthly Traffic Release

While February marked a dip in passenger traffic at Colorado Springs Airport (COS), with 156,177 total passengers, a 9.4 percent decrease from February 2024, the airport remains focused on long-term growth and expanding capacity. Seat availability rose by 3.6 percent compared to last year, positioning COS for a strong 2025 as travel demand picks up in the spring and summer.
