King County International Airport hosts FOD Walk and Community Day, July 20

King County International Airport-Boeing Field is holding its fourth annual Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Walk on Saturday, July 20. This event gives aviation enthusiasts and community members a chance to see the airport from a unique perspective as they walk the main runway (14R/32L) to remove loose objects that may pose a hazard to aircraft.

Members of the media are invited to cover the FOD Walk. Check-in runs from 7 to 8 a.m., and all participants (including media) must attend a mandatory safety briefing at 8:15 a.m. Buses will leave for the runway no later than 8:30 a.m. Latecomers cannot be accommodated.

Immediately following the FOD Walk, Friends of Boeing Field will host an Airport Community Day in the Museum of Flight parking lot until 3 p.m. Media are invited to cover this event as well.

WHO: Employees and tenants of King County Airport, pilots, and aviation enthusiasts from around the Puget Sound region, as well as community members and Friends of Boeing Field

WHEN: Saturday, July 20 at 8:15 a.m. for the FOD Walk; Airport Community Day runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
