New international arrivals facility, three more gates and new concessions now arriving at ORF

Norfolk, VA — (April 17, 2026) – Norfolk International Airport (ORF) continues to make notable progress on its multiyear TransformORF improvement program. This week, it opened a three-gate expansion of Concourse A, as well as a pair of new locally themed concessions. These introductions closely follow last month’s debut of ORF’s upgraded Federal Inspection Services facility at which U.S. Customs and Border Protection is now processing international arrivals.
The Concourse A extension spans nearly 19,000 square feet over two stories. Travelers at gates A10, A11 and A12 now enjoy an expansive seating area with floor-to-ceiling views of the airfield. The space’s center features two new food & beverage options – High Tide Bar Bites alongside the airport’s first partnership with Town Center Cold Pressed, a popular Virginia Beach-based coffee and juice café. Other amenities include additional restrooms and an indoor pet relief area.
American Airlines is using Concourse A’s newest gates, while Breeze Airways will relocate into Concourse A later this spring to help balance airline operations and passenger flow within ORF.
Travelers whose flights use Concourse B can soon experience Bruce Smith’s 200 Sack Club – a first-of-its-kind bar and grill honoring its namesake Pro Football Hall of Fame member who grew up in Norfolk and lives in Virginia Beach. It will open later this month between gates B25 and B27.
High Tide Bar Bites and Town Center Cold Pressed are among several new or upgraded concessions arriving under ORF’s recent agreement with Faber, Coe & Gregg, a New Jersey-based retail and dining firm. Separately, Bruce Smith’s 200 Sack Club is a product of The Playmakers Group, which runs athlete-themed restaurants within several U.S. airports. A third concessions partner, Switzerland-based Avolta AG, is set to introduce or refresh more shops and restaurants beginning later this year as part of ORF’s airportwide concessions enhancement.
Work is also underway on roadway realignments that will greatly enhance drivers’ ability to move in and out of the airport campus. Further ORF improvements set to break ground in 2026 include an onsite consolidated car rental facility and the first stages of a comprehensive terminal upgrade. Passenger screening now occurs at two separate checkpoints but will soon relocate into a single TSA screening area for easier post-security movement between Concourses A and B.
