ADB SAFEGATE today officially inaugurated its new global Headquarters and Factory in Machelen, Belgium, marking a major milestone in the company’s more than 100-year history of Belgian engineering and innovation in airport technology.

 

The inauguration ceremony brought together government representatives, industry partners, customers, employees, and members of the aviation community to celebrate this important milestone in the company’s history.

 

Located in the Brussels area, the new site brings together Research & Development, advanced manufacturing, and corporate management under one roof, strengthening ADB SAFEGATE’s position as a global leader in integrated airside technologies.

A Strategic Investment in Innovation and Manufacturing

The Machelen facility will serve as ADB SAFEGATE’s global innovation hub for next-generation airport technologies, supporting the company’s Airside 4.0® strategy and the continued digital transformation of airport operations worldwide.

The site expands the company’s capabilities in:

  • advanced airfield lighting systems,
  • intelligent power and control technologies,
  • digital airport solutions,
  • and AI-enabled applications designed to improve airport safety, efficiency, resilience, and sustainability.

The facility also increases ADB SAFEGATE’s local assembly, testing, and manufacturing capacity, supporting more sustainable production processes and shorter innovation cycles for global airport customers.
