ADK Consulting & Executive Search, a retained recruitment firm known for its expertise in senior executive searches in the aviation industry, announced the successful placement of Michael Caires, IAP, as Airport Director for Trenton-Mercer Airport. Mr. Caires was selected following a comprehensive national search and will lead the airport’s operations.
Mr. Caires brings more than 25 years of airport management experience as well as 30 years in hospitality and tourism. He most recently served as General Manager for TBI Airport Management, Inc. / Vinci Airports at Atlantic City International Airport, where he oversaw daily airport operations, regulatory compliance, budgeting, staff, tenants, airlines, concessions, commercial activity, construction coordination, customer service, and stakeholder engagement. He previously held senior marketing, commercial aviation, air-service development, customer experience, and stakeholder roles during 18 years at Orlando Sanford International Airport.

He has extensive relationships across the industry and will build and maintain important relationships with our federal partners, airlines, tenants, and surrounding communities.”

Mr. Caires earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology. He went on to receive a master’s degree in Sport Management from the United States Sports Academy. He holds the International Airport Professional designation through the ACI-ICAO Airport Management Professional Accreditation Program.
