Beginning June 1, Hartsfield-Jackson will have 7,626 additional parking spaces for customers
ATLANTA – As summer travel heats up and the 2026 FIFA World Cup just weeks away, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is easing customer parking concerns with a new Domestic Terminal South Parking Deck. ATL held a preview media event this afternoon in advance of the deck’s official opening on Monday, June 1, at 3 a.m.
“ATL is the region’s strongest economic engine and maintaining that position requires continuous investment in world-class infrastructure,” said Mayor Andre Dickens. “The new South Deck enhances how we welcome millions of travelers each year while supporting our role as a global gateway that drives economic opportunity, tourism and business growth throughout Atlanta and beyond.”
The seven-level deck is located directly across from the South Domestic Terminal. With a groundbreaking in September 2023, this transformative investment delivers a modern, sustainable parking solution featuring nearly 3 million square feet across seven levels, and comprehensive life safety systems and EV charging options designed to support the Airport’s continued growth and enhance the traveler experience.
With 6,429 spaces in the deck and 1,197 spaces in the South Economy Lot, the new facilities provide a total of 7,626 parking spaces on the South side of the Airport.
“This parking project reflects the kind of growth ATL has to plan for, and it reflects what passengers expect when they arrive,” said ATL General Manager Ricky Smith. “And it reflects our responsibility to keep improving how ATL works for the people who depend on it every day.”
