MIAMI, Fla., July 15, 2026 — Avianca today announced the launch of two new year-round routes connecting Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) with Barranquilla (BAQ) and Cali (CLO), significantly expanding nonstop travel options between South Florida and Colombia.
Both routes will operate daily, further strengthening Avianca’s nonstop footprint in the region. With Barranquilla and Cali joining Bogotá and MedellÃn, the airline now serves four primary Colombian destinations from Fort Lauderdale.
“Fort Lauderdale is a strategic gateway within Avianca’s U.S. network, and these new routes directly respond to the growing demand for convenient, point-to-point travel between South Florida and Colombia,” said Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Sales Director for North America. “The addition of daily service to Barranquilla and Cali marks a milestone in Avianca’s continued growth at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, reinforcing our long-term commitment to South Florida travelers.”
The launches build upon Avianca’s recent capacity increases at FLL. On June 1, the airline successfully introduced a second daily frequency between Fort Lauderdale and Bogotá, doubling service on the route and providing passengers with enhanced scheduling flexibility.

Customers traveling on the new routes can choose between Economy and Avianca’s Business Class Americas. Available on all international routes within the Americas, Business Class Americas includes priority check-in, access to eligible Avianca and Star Alliance lounges, an additional baggage allowance, and enhanced LifeMiles accrual. Onboard, customers enjoy seating in the first three rows, offering greater space, recline, privacy, and comfort.
The new service is part of Avianca’s ongoing commercial growth in the United States. The airline currently operates more than 400 weekly flights from 14 U.S. cities and transported over 4.9 million passengers to and from the country in 2025—a 6% increase compared to 2024.
