Lexington, KY—August 6, 2026—Blue Grass Airport (LEX) is making it even easier for visitors to experience the 2026 Breeders’ Cup World Championships. With additional service from American Airlines, travelers will have more flight options, including special one-time, non-stop flights between Lexington and five additional cities during the event weekend. The expanded service provides greater flexibility and convenience for the thousands of visitors expected to travel to Lexington for one of the world’s premier horse racing events.
These additional flights include non-stop service between Blue Grass Airport and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Miami International Airport (MIA) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). Flights from each city will arrive in Lexington on Thursday, October 29, and depart on Sunday, November 1, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy the full Breeders’ Cup experience on October 30 and 31. Local travelers can also take advantage of the added service, with select outbound flights from Lexington available throughout the weekend for a quick getaway to Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Miami or Phoenix.
In addition to these special event flights, American Airlines offers year-round, non-stop flights from Lexington to Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare and Dallas-Forth Worth. Reservations are available now at aa.com and through the American Airlines mobile app.
