Kalamazoo, MI – The Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport (AZO) is pleased to announce Christopher Beckman as its new Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. Beckman succeeds William Scamehorn, who retired after 20 years of dedicated service to the airport.
Beckman brings extensive military and civilian aviation experience to AZO. He began his career on active duty in the United States Air Force, working in airfield management. He later served with the Oklahoma Air National Guard in Oklahoma City and the Michigan Air National Guard.
Before joining AZO, Beckman served as Airport Director at Southwest Michigan Regional Airport in Benton Harbor, where he gained valuable experience leading airport operations and supporting the needs of the surrounding community.

I am excited to join the team and help build on the airport’s continued success.”

In his new role, Beckman will oversee the teams responsible for maintaining AZO’s airfield, facilities and essential operational systems. His leadership will help ensure the airport continues to provide a safe, reliable and welcoming experience for passengers, tenants, airline partners and the broader Southwest Michigan community.
