
Louisville, KY (October 5, 2026) – Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has appointed Karan Samir Shah, MD, MMHC, FACEP, to the Louisville Regional Airport Authority (LRAA) Board of Directors through July 15, 2028. The LRAA owns, operates, and develops both Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) and Bowman Field (LOU), serving as a critical economic engine for the Commonwealth and the broader region. Dr. Shah will complete the remainder of former Board Member Mitchel Denham’s term following his recent resignation.
Dr. Shah is a nationally recognized physician executive, entrepreneur and healthcare innovator. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Physician Care Coordination Consultants (PC3 Health), a Louisville-based healthcare services company specializing in physician advisory services, utilization management, denial prevention and appeals, clinical documentation integrity, care coordination, population health analytics and revenue cycle optimization.
Under Dr. Shah’s leadership, PC3 Health has experienced extraordinary growth, expanding from a regional consulting practice into one of the nation’s fastest- growing physician-led healthcare services organizations. The company now serves more than 70 facilities across 12 states, employs over 100 professionals and generated an estimated $325 million in financial impact for hospital clients in 2025 alone. PC3 Health was recently recognized as Louisville Business First’s #1 Best Place to Work in Louisville, a Kentucky Best Place to Work and one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare.
Dr. Shah has also built a distinguished track record in business development and hospitality. As Managing Partner of BKS Management LLC, he has participated in the acquisition, development and operation of multiple hotel properties across Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, creating jobs and driving regional economic investment.
Prior to founding PC3 Health, Dr. Shah served as Vice President of Physician Integration and Lead System Physician Advisor for Baptist Health, where he developed enterprise-wide strategies focused on care quality, utilization management, and physician engagement. Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Strategy and Operations for Emergency Medicine at Indiana University Health, one of the nation’s largest academic health systems.
Dr. Shah’s leadership and entrepreneurial achievements have earned national recognition. In recent years, he has been named an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® East Central Award Finalist, a Louisville Business First Most Admired CEO and a member of Becker’s Hospital Review’s Rising Stars: Healthcare Leaders Under 40. He has also received recognition through multiple Stevie® Awards, including Gold Stevie Awards for Company of the Year and Startup of the Year and has been commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel, the Commonwealth’s highest civilian honor.
A dedicated civic leader, Dr. Shah currently serves on the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure and the Louisville Metro Board of Health. He is also actively involved in numerous economic development, healthcare, workforce and community initiatives throughout Kentucky and the region, including advisory and leadership roles supporting business growth, innovation and public-private collaboration.
Dr. Shah earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Religious Studies from Bucknell University, his Doctor of Medicine degree from Wake Forest University School of Medicine and a Master of Management in Healthcare from Vanderbilt University, where he also completed his Emergency Medicine residency training and Administrative Fellowship.
