Edmonton International Airport (YEG) is thrilled to announce the grand opening of Firehouse Subs, offering travellers fresh, tasty dining on the go. Located post-security, near Gate 49, this new restaurant expands YEG’s growing selection of beloved food and beverage options for passengers travelling through the airport. YEG is proud to be the first airport in Canada to welcome a Firehouse Subs location.

Operated by Edmonton’s Synergy Franchising, Firehouse Subs serves the brand’s signature hot and hearty subs piled high with premium meats and cheeses including fan favourites like the iconic Hook & Ladder and Firehouse Meatball, as well as salads, snacks, grab-and-go items, gluten free options and refreshing beverages. The new location also features breakfast sandwiches and morning offerings ideal for early flights.

Founded in Jacksonville, Florida, by two former firefighter brothers, Firehouse Subs is known for its passionate commitment to bold flavour, quality ingredients and public safety. A portion of every purchase benefits the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which funds lifesaving equipment and resources for first responders and public safety organizations across North America.

“Firehouse Subs is a fantastic addition to the dining options at Edmonton International Airport,” said Carmen Donnelly, Vice President, Passenger Experience & Terminal Operations, YEG. “Travellers will appreciate having access to fresh, satisfying food from a brand with deep roots in community and service, making their time at YEG even more enjoyable.”

“We’re delighted to partner with Edmonton International Airport to bring Firehouse Subs to travellers, and we’re also proud to be investing back in the local community through our Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada” said Eddie Tsang, Chief Executive Officer, Synergy Franchising. “Travellers can feel confident that their purchase not only taste good but does good for their community too.”

Firehouse Subs is also known for the vibrant and engaging mural designs specifically designed to represent the story and character of each location. Each Firehouse Subs features a custom mural made for its location. At YEG, the design tells our story through our air traffic control tower, airport fire engine and the aircraft that pass through, all set against the prairie landscape of our region.
