Acquisition expands GGT Perimeter Defense’s portfolio of engineered perimeter security products and strengthens its U.S. manufacturing, integration and facility-hardening capabilities.
FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Sept. 16, 2026 — GGT Perimeter Defense, a leading provider of physical perimeter security and hostile vehicle mitigation solutions, today announced its acquisition of Barrier1 Systems, LLC (“Barrier1”), a U.S. manufacturer of engineered anti-ram vehicle barrier systems.
Founded in 2006 and headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina, Barrier1 has spent nearly two decades designing and manufacturing perimeter security solutions for military installations, government facilities, critical infrastructure, airports, commercial properties and other high-security environments. Barrier1’s product portfolio includes crash-rated bollards, drop and swing arms, wedge barriers, crash beams, vehicle arrestor net systems and other engineered security products.

The acquisition follows GGT Perimeter Defense’s recent acquisition of RSSI Barriers and represents another significant step in the company’s strategy to expand its product portfolio and further strengthen its position as a holistic provider of perimeter security and facility-hardening solutions. Together, Global GRAB Technologies, Barrier1 Systems, RSSI Barriers, Innovo Vehicle Barriers and CATSCLAW Tire Shredding Systems bring complementary crash-rated vehicle barrier technologies, engineering expertise, U.S.-based manufacturing capabilities and field support resources to serve customers with increasingly complex security requirements.
The combined organization offers a broad portfolio of crash-rated vehicle barriers, less-than-lethal technologies, perimeter reinforcement systems, intelligent detection solutions and integrated access-control products. These solutions are supported by capabilities spanning system design and engineering through integration, installation, maintenance and long-term lifecycle support.
