King County International Airport shares future plans at May 14 open house

May 11, 2026 | News

King County International Airport-Boeing Field (KCIA) is sharing future airport plans at its upcoming open house as part of the Vision 2045 Airport Plan process. The goal is to have a plan that will allow KCIA to evolve and adapt to meet changing aviation needs over the next 20 years.

KCIA invites airport tenants, airport users, and community members to learn about the selected preferred alternative which includes projects the airport is including in the Vision 2045 Airport Plan. The preferred alternative was selected based on technical analysis of the airport’s future needs and input shared during the Vision 2045 process. The selected preferred alternative and alternatives considered are available to view on the project website, KCIAPlanning.com.

The open house will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the KCIA Flight Service Station, 6526 Ellis Ave. S. in Seattle. Attendees can stop by any time to talk with the study team and share their feedback.

“The preferred alternative we will share at this at open house is the culmination of our technical work and the feedback from airport tenants, airport users, and the community that helped shape the process,” said airport director John Parrott.
