AUSTIN, Texas – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Viva Aerobus, the airport’s new airline partner, are launching nonstop service to Monterrey, Mexico. The inaugural flight departs on March 22, 2024.

In September 2023, AUS and Viva Aerobus unveiled the Mexico-based ultra-low-cost carrier’s entrance to the Austin and Central Texas market with new nonstop service to Monterrey International Airport (MTY). The airline will operate flights between Austin and Monterrey 4 days a week. Monterrey is a key destination in Mexico due to the many business, tourism and family connections in Texas. It is also an important connector to many other popular destinations in Mexico. 

WHAT: 
Media is invited to cover the Viva Aerobus inaugural flight launch event, which will include remarks from airport, City of Austin, and community leadership. 

English and Spanish interviews with AUS spokespeople will be available before and after remarks from speakers.
