Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Expands Leadership to Support Growing Operational Demands

MNAA recognizes Michael Glazer and Robert Wethington with roles that enhance airport operations and technology systems

Nashville, Tenn. (June 16, 2026) — The Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) today announced the promotion of Michael Glazer to Assistant Vice President, Terminal Operations and Facilities and  Robert Wethington to Director, IT Client Field Services, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to developing strong internal leaders who support the evolving needs of Nashville International Airport®, also known as BNA®, and John C. Tune Airport®, also known as JWN®.

Michael Glazer has been promoted to Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Terminal Operations and Facilities, and Robert Wethington has been promoted to Director of IT Client Field Services.

Outlined below are the professional backgrounds of the individuals

  • Michael Glazer, formerly Director, Landside/Terminal Facilities & Operations, has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Terminal Operations and Facilities

Glazer assumed the role of Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Terminal Operations and Facilities on April 6, 2026. He now oversees MNAA’s Terminal and Facilities, Customer Service, and Projects and Planning teams.

He joined MNAA in 2022 after holding operational roles at airports across the country, including Teterboro Airport (TEB) in New Jersey and San Jose International Airport (SJC) in California. Since joining MNAA, he has taken on increasing responsibilities, most recently supporting and leading the Facilities team in late 2025.

Glazer is an instrument-rated private pilot, a Part 107 UAS pilot and an Airport Security Coordinator (ASC), a federally required role that serves as the airport’s primary contact with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) on security matters. He also holds Certified Member (C.M.) and Airport Certified Employee (ACE) credentials from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) and is certified in airfield operations and safety management systems.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in aerospace administration and an associate degree in business administration from Indiana State University.

  • Robert Wethington, formerly Manager, IT Client Field Services, has been promoted to Director, IT Client Field Services

Robert Wethington has been promoted to Director, IT Client Field Services, overseeing the Client Field Services team and IT Electronics, the groups responsible for supporting the Authority’s essential Operational Technology systems.

He began his MNAA career in June 2017 as a Telecommunications Coordinator, later advancing to Telecommunications Manager and then Manager, IT Client Field Services in March 2023.

Throughout his tenure, Wethington has overseen several major technology initiatives, including the complete overhaul of MNAA’s common use system in 2024 — a major upgrade that elevated passenger processing and operational efficiency throughout the airport.

He earned his Certified Member (C.M.) designation from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) in July 2024 and brings more than three decades of IT and telecommunications experience, dating back to 1990. He also holds multiple telecommunications and Cisco certifications and is informally regarded as MNAA’s “Swiss Army knife of IT” for his versatility and problem‑solving skills.

Before joining MNAA, Wethington spent 15 years supporting BNA as a vendor, deepening his connection to the organization and its mission. A U.S. Navy veteran, he brings a strong sense of service, discipline and commitment to his leadership approach.
