The new issue you’re holding in your hands, or looking at on your screen, is our last edition of 2024. It’s been a good year. No, it’s been a great year for most of us in the airport industry.
There is much to be thankful for: high volumes of passenger traffic, a huge number of safety and capacity projects completed or still taking place, and funding available to support this exciting growth.
At Airport Improvement, we also have much to be thankful for. This year, we’ve celebrated more stories, more advertising, more subscribers and more followers than ever before.
This isn’t to say that any of our lives are perfect or easy. Recently, our industry has had to contend with vicious events like hurricanes Helene and Milton.
Sadly, we also lost another publication serving the airport industry in both print and digital format. That’s now two magazine departures in two consecutive years. Given that there’s so much taking place in our airport sector to report on, it’s a sad tale to tell.
We’ll do our best to fill the void left by the departing magazines. But we’ll need your help. Airports, please keep sending us your news releases. It’s important that we continue to see what improvements you’re making to your facilities. We’re always looking for new and innovative projects, procedures and ideas.
Consultants and suppliers, let us know what projects you’re involved with. There’s a place for you as well at Airport Improvement Magazine. We’re already gearing up for each of our issues coming in 2025. This is the perfect time for you to become part of our plans.
Thank you for a terrific 2024. We can’t wait to see you in 2025.
Cheers!
