South Bend, IN. – Officials gathered at South Bend International Airport (SBN) today for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of new food and drink options, both pre- and post-security.
Within the last month, Dunkin’, Jimmy John’s, and The Lauber Overlook opened post-security offering travelers more options in addition to the existing food and drink offerings. Dunkin’ serves up signature coffees and refreshers along with donuts, pastries, and savory bites like avocado toast, snackin’ bacon, and ham and swiss croissant stuffers seven days a week from 4:00 a.m. until the last departure. A second Dunkin’ recently opened pre-security near the South Shore Line for train passengers and guests coming to pick up a passenger.
Jimmy John’s is located across from gate seven offering original and favorite sandwiches, wraps, chips, cookies, and premium sides like pesto bowtie pasta salad. Early morning travelers can enjoy breakfast sandwiches served daily until 10:00 a.m. and include ham or bacon with egg and provolone on Jimmy John’s famous bread. Breakfast sandwiches are unique to Jimmy John’s located in airports.
The Lauber Overlook marks SBN’s first bar with views of both the airfield and gates. Situated between gates six and seven, The Lauber Overlook serves libations including the signature Gettin’ Figgy With It, Lauber Margarita, and Lauber Old Fashioned. Notre Dame football cocktails include Wake Up the Echoes and the Blue and Gold Rush. The bar is open daily from 7:00 a.m. until the last departure.
“The goal of our refreshed concession partnership with Sky Dine was to expand offerings for the traveling public,” said Mike Daigle, South Bend International Airport’s CEO and executive director. “The timing of the opening to coincide with the Notre Dame football season was intentional. Travelers are enjoying the new spaces and excited for more choices.”

Our partnership with The Lauber is a great example of what can be accomplished when local businesses, the airport, and our team come together with a shared vision,” said Austin Sejnoha, Executive Vice President of Sky Dine. “We are incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together, and as we move into Phase Two, we look forward to continuing to build those relationships, expanding our local partnerships, and creating even more opportunities to bring local businesses, brands, and products into Sky Dine’s growing food, beverage, and retail program at SBN.”
Local project partners include Earnest Hospitality, OA Nevan Construction, and Abonmarche.
Phase two planning is underway to include a full-service The Lauber restaurant in the existing restaurant space across from gate four. Expanded retail and grab-and go offerings with self-checkout post-security are also on the horizon. Bend Market & Brews will open in the former retail space pre-security. Phase two offerings are scheduled to open in 2027.
