PSP Launches Refreshed Website 2 Years Ahead of Federal Accessibility Deadline

Jul 29, 2026 | News

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) has launched a refreshedflyPSP.com, delivering a more accessible, intuitive, and mobile-friendly experience for travelers while completing new federal digital accessibility requirements well in advance of the required compliance date.

The primary driver of the refresh was compliance with updated digital accessibility requirements under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The new standards require public agency websites to meet modern accessibility guidelines that improve usability for people with disabilities through features such as enhanced color contrast, improved readability, keyboard navigation, and compatibility with assistive technologies like screen readers. While compliance is not required until April 2028, PSP proactively completed the work approximately two years early.

“Accessibility is about more than meeting a requirement. It’s also making sure every traveler can easily access the information they need before and during their journey,” said Victoria Carpenter, Interim Executive Director at Palm Springs International Airport. “Getting this work done well ahead of the federal deadline reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for every guest, both online and at the airport.”

While accessibility served as the foundation for the project, PSP also used the opportunity to modernize the website’s overall look, feel, and usability. The updated site features simplified navigation, consolidated content, cleaner page layouts, and a mobile-first design that makes it faster and easier for travelers to find the information they’re looking for.

The refresh builds upon PSP’s ongoing efforts to improve every stage of the passenger journey, from planning a trip at home to arriving at the airport. The result is a more streamlined, app-like experience that better serves the growing number of visitors accessing the website from their smartphones.

Highlights of the refreshed website include:

  • Redesigned Flight Status page with improved functionality and enhanced TSA wait time information
  • New At the Airport hub that makes it easier to explore airport services, amenities, and passenger information
  • Updated Shops, Restaurants & Amenities section with improved organization and browsing
  • Simplified navigation with consolidated pages and fewer clicks to find information
  • Improved mobile experience optimized for phones and tablets
  • Enhanced accessibility features that improve usability for all visitors
