DECATUR, Ala. — The Pryor Field Airport Authority is proud to announce the expansion of Rocket City Aviation Services to Pryor Field Regional Airport (DCU), further strengthening the airport’s growing reputation as a premier aviation hub for North Alabama and the Tennessee Valley.

Rocket City Aviation Services is a Cirrus Training Center bringing advanced pilot training opportunities and modern aircraft access to the region. The company’s expansion to Pryor Field represents another major step forward in the airport’s continued growth in aviation services, workforce development, and general aviation activity.

As part of its expansion, Rocket City Aviation Services now operates both a Cirrus SR22 and a brand-new Cirrus SR20 at Pryor Field, with the SR20 arriving directly from the showroom floor. The addition of these technologically advanced aircraft provides pilots and students in North Alabama access to some of the most modern and safety-focused training platforms in general aviation today.
Cirrus Aircraft’s training network is recognized nationally for its emphasis on advanced avionics, safety systems, and standardized instruction.

“As Pryor Field continues to grow as a gateway for aviation and aerospace in North Alabama, partnerships with companies like Rocket City Aviation Services help fulfill the airport’s mission of connecting businesses, people, and opportunities nationwide,” said Adam Fox, CEO of the Pryor Field Airport Authority. “Their investment brings additional high-quality flight training opportunities to the region while further supporting our vision.”

The addition of Rocket City Aviation Services enhances Pryor Field’s expanding aviation ecosystem, which already includes aircraft maintenance, corporate aviation, aviation education, aerospace-related development and aviation focused events such as the North Alabama Airfest. The airport has seen significant infrastructure and tenant growth in recent years, positioning it as one of Alabama’s fastest-growing general aviation airports.

“We are excited to welcome Rocket City Aviation Services to the airport family,” Fox added. “Their presence complements the momentum we are building at Pryor Field and creates additional opportunities for pilots, aviation enthusiasts, and future aviators throughout the region.”

Rocket City Aviation Services will offer Cirrus flight training and aviation services designed to help pilots train in some of the most technologically advanced general aviation aircraft available today.
