TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson International Airport (TUS) is proud to announce its designation as the Official Airport of the University of Arizona, marking a significant milestone in the growing partnership between two organizations that play a vital role in the economic prosperity of Southern Arizona.
The designation formalizes a collaborative relationship designed to create awareness about TUS and its incredible ease of use with students, families, alumni, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Through the partnership, TUS will be integrated into key university experiences throughout the year, including Welcome Week, Family Weekend, Homecoming, Admitted Student Day, Commencement, and other campus events. TUS will also maintain a visible presence at the Wildcat Welcome Center, where prospective students and their families visit campus and learn about life as a Wildcat.
The partnership extends beyond traditional advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Throughout the academic year, TUS will engage directly with students and families through on-campus events, student ambassador programs, alumni communications, and targeted travel initiatives.
In addition, the partnership includes travel-focused benefits designed to make transportation between campus and TUS even easier. Seasonal travel promotions and Lyft discount programs will provide additional convenience for students and staff traveling during peak periods such as the beginning and end of semesters, holiday breaks, and major university events.
The collaboration also supports broader regional goals by encouraging the use of local air service, increasing awareness of available flight options, and helping build lifelong travel habits among students who may continue living, working, and traveling through Tucson long after graduation.
