MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (November 2, 2015) - The emergence of transportation network companies, also known as TNCs or rideshare companies like Lyft and Uber, has changed the landscape of on-demand transportation. However, airport regulations for commercial ground transportation have prevented TNCs from legally operating at many airports.
GateKeeper Systems, a pioneer in ground transportation management software, today announced it has deployed a TNC-integrated live data feed for Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport. This represents the first TNC management product available for immediate implementation at all airports. A long-time customer of GateKeeper, McCarran has been using the company's commercial vehicle management system (CVMS) for more than 10 years. However the new GateKeeperTNC-OpsT software can be implemented independent of any existing ground transportation system.
On Monday, Lyft began offering service at McCarran using GateKeeperTNC-OpsT. Other TNCs are also actively working with GateKeeper as part of their preparations to offer service at the airport. GateKeeperTNC-Ops receives real-time data from Lyft's system when its vehicles are reported on the airport roadway. It then processes the information to provide the airport visibility into arrival and departure of Lyft vehicles, passenger drop off and pick up events and the generation of associated trip charges. This integration helps McCarran meet oversight responsibilities and provides them with the opportunity to:
The technology benefits not only airports but TNCs and travelers as well. Now all companies that want to serve McCarran can meet the airport permit data requirements. Plus, travelers now have another option for airport transportation services, both in and out of the airport.
"We view it as our job to anticipate the ground transportation needs of airports," said Lynn Richardson, CEO of GateKeeper. "With the arrival of TNCs a few years ago, we saw the emerging data problem and started to work on solving it a year and half ago. We'll be ready to roll it out in earnest to other airports, regardless of their GTM system, by mid-November."

2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
