(Green Bay / Elkhart Lake, Wis.) The next time you head to Elkhart Lake’s Road America, you’ll notice Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB) will be right there with you! GRB has entered into a sponsorship agreement with Road America, a legendary four‐mile, 14‐turn road circuit where the world's best racers have competed for over 66 years. Established in 1955 and located midway between Green Bay and Milwaukee in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin. The 640‐ acre, park‐like grounds offer unique viewing opportunities, fantastic concessions, and highspeed excitement ranging from NASCAR to INDYCAR.
GRB signage is now featured over the track and on track barriers. The signage will also be visible on TV coverage and in popular racing video games. “On an annual basis, Road America attracts thousands of national and international visitors,” explained GRB Airport Director Marty Piette, A.A.E. “We want to make sure those visitors know there’s a nearby, convenient airport to use when they’re coming to the track. We’re less than an hour away – a straight shot down the Interstate.”
“We’re excited to partner with Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport,” stated Mike Kertscher, Road America’s President and General Manager . “GRB is a wonderful airport served by five major airlines, which means it will be easy for our fans – no matter where they’re from – to fly in and get to the track for our spectacular races.”
“Road America is a premier destination in Northeast Wisconsin and we’re looking forward to the racing season along with the travelers it will bring to our area,” added Brown County Executive Troy Streckenbach. “The partnership is not only good for GRB, but also for the entire county. Visitors rent cars, stay in hotels, buy gas, shop and go to restaurants while they’re here. It’s a win all the way around.”
Kertscher summed up the draw of Road America by stating, “With radical elevation changes, tree‐lined straights and flowers blooming at every turn, Road America's four spectacular miles are in a one‐of‐a‐kind class with racers the world over; and photographers view it as a paradise for split‐second shutters and scenic backgrounds.”
He continued, “Whatever your desire, Road America serves it up package style. Load up the family and come witness the power, pageantry and picturesque landscapes of Road America, a track that is every bit as impressive as the cars and motorcycles that will compete all summer long.”

2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
