MKE and Alaska Airlines will fly your letters to the North Pole as part of award-winning program
MILWAUKEE (DECEMBER 2, 2021) – Just in time for the holiday season, a Letters to Santa Mailbox has arrived at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport. Travelers are invited to drop off their letters and wish lists for Santa Claus. The mailbox will be placed near the entrance to Concourse D in the Main Terminal from now through December 15.
Paper and pens will be available. Anyone who writes a letter to Santa is asked to include their address to receive a personalized response back.
MKE, along with Alaska Airlines, will then fly all of the letters received out to the North Pole on a special flight. Children are invited to follow along on the Airport’s social media accounts to see their letter’s journey to Santa Claus. The letters will be hung on display for all to see at the North Pole this holiday season. This is the second year for the Airport’s Letters to Santa program. The program won a first-place award at this year’s Airports Council International-North America's (ACI-NA) 2021 Marketing and Communications Conference.
Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
