Fort McMurray residents can fly roundtrip between YMM and YUL via Air Canada in 2023
Fort McMurray, AB – Come June 20, 2023, Fort McMurray residents will enjoy 4.5-hour non-stop flights between the Fort McMurray International Airport (YMM) and Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL). Flights will be operated year-round, three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays), by Air Canada Rouge (AC) using an Airbus A319 aircraft with 136 seats in a Premium Rouge and Economy Class configuration. This will be the first-time in YMM’s history passengers can fly non-stop between YMM and YUL.
“This new air service not only allows Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo residents a quick flight option to enjoy the beauty and attractions Montreal has to offer, but also the many quick connections available via YUL to other east coast and international destinations,” says Denean Robinson, Interim President & CEO, Fort McMurray Airport Authority. “This is yet another win for YMM, our community and the many who travel to our region.”
AC’s Senior Vice President, Network Planning and Revenue Management, Mark Galardo echoes Robinson’s excitement, “We are very pleased to add a new route connecting Fort McMurray to Montreal, one of Air Canada’s hubs in Eastern Canada. These new flights will complement our existing Toronto service, and Air Canada will be the only carrier connecting Fort McMurray non-stop to two significant hubs in Quebec and Ontario, offering an unparalleled array of connection opportunities to Atlantic Canada, to the US or globally.”

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
