COLUMBUS, Ohio (March 31, 2020) — David Wall has joined Woolpert as a senior aviation planner, working out of the firm’s Columbus office. Wall, an Accredited Airport Executive with nearly three decades of experience in airport planning and operations, has led billion-dollar airport development projects.
In his most recent role as the senior manager of airport planning at the Columbus Regional Airport Authority, Wall worked closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and local and state agencies, serving as a liaison between multiple entities. He is a certified commercial pilot, an accredited member of the American Association of Airport Executives, and an expert in airport planning, capital improvement planning, National Environmental Policy Act compliance and Part 150 Airport Noise Compatibility planning.
Wall said he is looking forward to the opportunity to work at a wider variety of airports on a more diverse array of projects with Woolpert.
“I’m fortunate to have experience from the administrative side and operational side of airports. My time with the Authority prepared me for working on a variety of planning projects at air carrier, cargo and general aviation airports,” Wall said. “In this new role, I’m looking forward to helping many airports throughout the U.S. thrive, to tackling challenging planning issues and to becoming an integral part of Woolpert’s growth in the aviation market.”
Woolpert Vice President and Aviation Market Director Chris Snyder said the industry is advancing rapidly, elevating the need for planning professionals of Wall’s caliber.
“There is a wide diversity of challenges facing the aviation industry,” Snyder said. “Woolpert is working every day to help airports large and small plan and design for the future, while meeting current demands for safe air travel operations. Dave’s experience working with local, state and federal officials will ensure our clients continue to receive the best guidance and direction on their planning and development projects.”

2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
