FORT MADISON, IA ... October 2014 marked the inaugural sale of Cryotechs
industry leading Polar Plus® LT Type I aircraft deicing/anti-icing fluid in
the United States. Polar Plus LT is industry leading technology combining
extremely low aquatic toxicity and LOUT (Lowest Operational Use Temperature)
with excellent wetting and low foaming properties.
Polar Plus LT was trialed on a large scale basis by select Cryotech
customers during the 2014 2015 deicing season. Customers using Polar Plus
LT lauded the improved formula for its ease of use, environmental
properties, and overall performance.
As a major manufacturer and supplier of aircraft deicing fluids, we are
acutely aware of our responsibility to recognize shifting market conditions
and respond to customer needs, said Craig Starwalt, President and CEO of
Cryotech Deicing Technology. Opportunities to improve our environmental
profile have always been a key research and development metric. This,
coupled with input by a top customer, cemented our decision to commit to the
development of what is now Polar Plus LT.
Polar Plus LT has the lowest aquatic toxcity of any propylene glycol based
fluid in the industry, greatly reducing its environmental effect on
stormwater run-off. It is triazole free, does not contain nonylphenol
ethoxylate surfactants, and is readily biodegradable. In addition to its
outstanding environmental attributes, Polar Plus LT has a LOUT of -27.4°F
(-33°C), the lowest LOUT in the industry for a propylene glycol based fluid.
Polar Plus LTs superior wetting and low foaming properties enable easier
handling, even dispersal, and aid in visual contamination checks. Polar
Plus LT is an AMS 1424 Certified, FAA approved Type I aircraft
deicing/anti-icing fluid.
Polar Plus LT is being introduced as a replacement to Cryotech Polar Plus®
Type I. Inventory transitions will occur throughout calendar year 2016 with
fluid availability in select markets as early as February 2016.

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
