(June 6, 2016) The world’s best, brightest and most influential airfield safety, operations and maintenance personnel will amass in Minneapolis-St.Paul this September to take part in SWIFT 2016.
For the first time in its thirty-eight year history, the SWIFT Conference and Trade Show will be held in the United States, September 19 to 22, in conjunction with the Minneapolis – St. Paul (MSP) International Airport.
Traditionally, SWIFT has been held in Canada, drawing hundreds of international airfield professionals to the annual conference to discuss the latest trends and technologies for improving the safety and efficiency of airfields around the world.
“SWIFT has evolved over the past decade to become the most comprehensive and globally recognized conference regarding technical airfield operations and safety,” said Roy McLeod, Director, Airfield Services at Calgary International Airport and SWIFT Executive Committee member. “It is a natural progression to move into the United States as we have many loyal participants south of the border. We are very excited about hosting the first ever USA-based SWIFT with our friends at MSP.”
This year’s SWIFT event features an unparalleled range of presenters including dinner keynote Bill Lentsch, Senior Vice President, Airport Customer Service & Airline Operations, Delta Air Lines Inc. on Elevating the Airline Customer Experience.
A one-day trade show at the MSP airfield maintenance facility, with anticipated participation from over 70 world-leading suppliers of airfield technologies, products and services, will be part of the four-day event.
“We are honored to host this year’s conference and are experiencing tremendous interest in the trade show,” said Lee Spangrud, Manager of Field Maintenance/Planning at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. “Given the shift to a U.S. location this year, we anticipate participation by many new exhibitors and expect all the available booth space to be sold by the end of July. Interested exhibitors should secure their space as quickly as possible to ensure a presence at the event.”

PAVIX: Proven Winner for All Airport Concrete Infrastructure
International Chem-Crete Corporation (ICC) manufactures and sells PAVIX, a unique line of crystalline waterproofing products that penetrate into the surface of cured concrete to fill and seal pores and capillary voids, creating a long lasting protective zone within the concrete substrate.
Once concrete is treated, water is prevented from penetrating through this protective zone and causing associated damage, such as freeze-thaw cracking, reinforcing steel corrosion, chloride ion penetration, and ASR related cracking.
This white paper discusses how the PAVIX CCC100 technology works and its applications.
