Memphis, TN – April 14, 2021 - Airport Seating Alliance has announced the completion of a 240-seat installation at the US Naval Station terminal in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Each seat was embossed with the AMC (Air Mobility Command) logo.
The installation was part of a project to replace worn-out terminal seating and add power charging points for passengers. The Ridgeway model seats all have arms and black vinyl cushions. Twelve Power and Go seat charging modules supply power to the seats.
“The project was ordered and installed using an GSA contract,” says James Hammond, ASA general manager.
“Ridgeway has proven to be a superior product at hundreds of US government installations including airports, military, Social Security Administration, Homeland Security, TSA and US Customs and Border Patrol,” says Hammond. “And, what makes it especially valuable is that it is simple out-of-the-box assembly.”
The AMC logo was placed on each seat back – something which ASA can offer any airport, airport lounge or airline customer, says Hammond.
Hammond explains that the Hubbell USB receptacles used in the Power and Go box has a large specifications and installation base in many airports throughout North America. Each USB port is expected to last a minimum of 20,000 insertions and each USB transformer should last at least 20 years.
“But the really important part is that whether a receptacle outlet reaches end of life or the USB technology becomes obsolete, the Hubbell USB receptacles can be replaced in these boxes using the latest technology receptacles without having to replace the entire seating box and cord assemblies,” Hammond says. “This can be done by a licensed electrician or qualified electrical maintenance staff. The replacement would be similar to replacing receptacle wall outlets.

PAVIX: Proven Winner for All Airport Concrete Infrastructure
International Chem-Crete Corporation (ICC) manufactures and sells PAVIX, a unique line of crystalline waterproofing products that penetrate into the surface of cured concrete to fill and seal pores and capillary voids, creating a long lasting protective zone within the concrete substrate.
Once concrete is treated, water is prevented from penetrating through this protective zone and causing associated damage, such as freeze-thaw cracking, reinforcing steel corrosion, chloride ion penetration, and ASR related cracking.
This white paper discusses how the PAVIX CCC100 technology works and its applications.
