Eugene, Oregon – November 29, 2023 –Eugene Airport (EUG) staff are proud to announce the completion of a new rental car quick turnaround (QTA) facility. The facility will allow the rental car companies to more efficiently process rental cars being returned to the airport.
“Conrac Solutions is proud to serve as operator of Eugene Airport’s new rent-a-car facility and to have led its opening throughout the operational readiness activation and transition process,” said Conrac Solutions CEO Michael Minerva. “Congratulations to the City of Eugene and the rent-a-car industry on this exciting new benefit to central Oregon’s traveling public.”
The new QTA facility has automated wash bays, multiple vacuum and fueling stations, as well as staff and office spaces. Included in the facility are parking spots equipped for electric vehicle (EV) charging and the building is partially powered by photovoltaic solar panels located on the roof of the main building. The solar panels are also serving as a pilot project to determine if solar is a viable power option for the airport. The data received from this project will help determine what role solar could play in powering the planned future terminal expansion.
The facility also has (3) 2,000-gallon reclamation tanks for the car wash system. These tanks allow 70-80% of the water to be reclaimed for use again in the car wash. In general, the water is reused until it becomes too “dirty” to reclaim and then it is discharged to the oil water separator before entering the sanitary system.
“The addition of the new rental car facility is a significant step forward for the rental car operations at the Eugene Airport,” said Eugene Airport Director Cathryn Stephens, A.A.E. “This new facility will allow us to reclaim the old facility and further expand our parking capacity.”
2022 Charlotte Douglas International Airport Report of Achievement
Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
This whitepaper highlights the construction projects, initiatives, programs and events that validate Charlotte Douglas as a premier airport.
