The single-runway nontowered Texas airport recently installed a new fuel system, complete with a 6,000- gallon above- ground Avgas tank and self-service pumps, for $200,000; but Vien spent only $50,000 of municipal funds to purchase it. A program administered by Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) provided the $150,000 difference.
