The ITW GSE Hobart 3400 PCA that is launching in the America’s, is the market’s most innovative, reliable and environmentally friendly PCA and the only true modular PCA available. The ITW GSE Hobart 3400 PCA is ETL listed to UL1012 requirements. It has multiple, identical cooling modules. Each module can be retracted and replaced, like a drawer, in only 20 minutes by a technician. There are no special skills required. This minimizes downtime which keeps aircraft turn-arounds on schedule by allowing the PCA to continue cooling the aircraft by means of the remaining modules.
The ITW GSE Hobart 3400 PCA is designed for all types of aircraft from narrow-body to super Jumbos. It is available for bridge-or ground mounting for aircraft parking positions or for hangar applications, says Vice President, Sales & Marketing Mr. Poul Elvstrom.
A Greener Environment – Ensured by Step less regulation
Traditional PCA units are designed for peak load conditions – but these probably only apply for 10-20 days each year. This means that a traditional PCA delivers excess capacity for about 80% of the time – wasting expensive energy and creating undesirable emissions. The ITW GSE Hobart 3400 design breaks completely new ground in airport PCA equipment by using variable frequency drive technology that gives easy, step less regulation of the discharge temperature. Therefore, the ITW GSE Hobart 3400 PCA units supply exactly the required amount of cold air thus using much less energy than traditional PCAs. Step less regulation also means less mechanical stress – which boosts reliability and service life and gives a better return on investment.
ITW GSE Design Incudes Icon Based User Interface
The designation of "400" signifies that the ITW GSE Hobart 3400 PCA unit is built on ITW GSE’s common design platform which includes the ITW GSE icon based User Interface that is just as easy and intuitive to use as your smart phone or tablet. The User Interface is common to all ITW GSE’s "400" product lines. This means that airport staff already familiar with one ITW GSE product can easily operate another because the display and the icons are the same. Another popular feature is the software-based control system that enables updates and additional capabilities to be implemented via a USB.
The new innovative 3400 range has had a fantastic start in 2016 with 69 units produced and delivered with 129 units on order for later next year. The new design will replace all existing POU PCA units from ITW GSE by early 2017, finishes Elvstrom.
