CHICAGO, October 21, 2015 - The Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2015 Airports Going Green Award. This prestigious award recognizes the contributions of each individual, project, or program, and outstanding leadership in pursuit of sustainability within the aviation industry. Made from reclaimed wood, these awards will be presented by CDA Commissioner Ginger S. Evans at the 8th Annual Airports Going Green Conference in Chicago during the awards luncheon on Tuesday, October 27th.
This year featured 24 nominations for consideration, making it among the toughest selection processes in the Award's history. Selection was by the AGG Steering Committee, which this year included Paul Bowers, Publisher for Airport Improvement Magazine (AI), and Aileen Cho, Senior Editor of Transportation for Engineering News-Record (ENR).

Giving back to the community is central to what Charlotte Douglas International Airport and its operator, the City of Charlotte Aviation Department, is about, and last year was no different.
Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community. Of particular note, we spent the year sharing stories of how Connections Don't Just Happen at the Terminal - from creating homeownership and employment opportunities to supporting economic growth through small-business development and offering outreach programs to help residents understand the Airport better.
