Arora Engineers (Arora), one of BD+C’s 2022 Top 10 Airport Terminal Engineering firms, is pleased to welcome Barry A. Rondinella, AAE, CAE, as our new Transportation Development Director.
Barry brings over three decades of experience in Airport leadership roles including Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Stockton Metropolitan Airport (SCK), Santa Maria Public Airport (SMX), and the Sacramento County Airport System to Arora. Most recently, he served as Airport Director for John Wayne Airport which was named Best Large Airport in North America by the J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Survey while under his leadership.
In his new role, Barry will draw upon his extensive experience, network, and understanding he has gained leading airport operations and capital improvement programs to cultivate relationships, ensure project success with key clients and prospects to grow the firm’s reach and support our large transportation programs along the West Coast and beyond.
Barry has decades of experience planning, organizing, and directing all facets of Airport operations for facilities ranging from small public airports to the nation’s busiest commercial and cargo hubs. Throughout his tenure leading airport operations across California, he spearheaded countless campaigns which successfully improved vendor relationships, expanded passenger and cargo capacity, and prioritized the safety of staff and passengers alike.

Barry is an Accredited Airport Executive as awarded by the American Association of Airport Executives and served on its Board of Directors. He is past President of the Southwest Chapter of the American Association of Airport Executives (SWAAAE) and is a Certified Airport Executive as conferred by SWAAAE. Barry also served the Airports Council International – North America on its Policy Council and as Vice Chair of the Medium Hub Airport Committee and looks forward to his continued involvement in these and other industry Associations.

Throughout 2022, while recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued our efforts to have a positive impact on the Charlotte community.
