Blue Grass Airport And United Airlines Announce New Non-Stop Service To Denver

Traveling to Westbound Destinations from Lexington Just Got Easier

Lexington, Kentucky—May 23, 2023—Blue Grass Airport (LEX) is pleased to announce that United Airlines will begin operating daily non-stop flights from Lexington, Kentucky to Denver, Colorado—the Mile High City. Beginning September 29, 2023, this new flight will not only serve as a gateway to Denver and the Rocky Mountains, but it will also provide travelers with connecting access to more than 70 westbound destinations including the western United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Western Canada, Mexico and Japan.

Service will be provided on a 76-seat, ERJ-175 aircraft that includes a first-class cabin with 12 seats. Flights will be offered daily and are on sale now at www.united.com.

The addition is a result of United’s ambitious United Next plan and part of a larger United announcement of 35 new flights, a dozen new gates and three new clubs in Denver.

One critical part of our expansion is offering our customers more convenient access to unique destinations like Lexington,” said United’s Managing Director of Domestic Planning, Mark J. Weithofer. “We’re looking forward to connecting Blue Grass Airport travelers to even more destinations across the globe through Denver.”

With 300 days of sunshine a year, Denver is a great destination for leisure travelers. It boasts a large and very walkable downtown and a live music scene including spectacular Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Many of Colorado’s top ski resorts including Vail, Keystone, Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Copper Mountain and Winter Park are just a little more than an hour from Denver. Rocky Mountain National Park is also just 70 miles away.

In addition to non-stop service to Denver, United Airlines offers three daily flights between Blue Grass Airport and Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD). Members of United Club receive complimentary admission to Blue Grass Airport’s business lounge, The Club at Blue Grass, located in Concourse B.
