Lexington, KY—May 11, 2023—In celebration of Mothers’ Day, Blue Grass Airport is opening a Mothers’ Nursing Suite as a new amenity in the airport terminal. Dedicated exclusively to nursing mothers, this suite provides a comfortable space for breastfeeding or pumping mothers while traveling with their families.
Conveniently located post-security in the Concourse B gate areas, this new suite includes two small rooms—one private space with a locked door and a larger room that includes a microwave, deep sink, full-length mirror, diaper changing station, well-placed electrical outlets and space for luggage. Both rooms include comfortable gliding and rocking chairs, and the aesthetics, lighting and decor in the suite are soothing and soft to provide a calm setting.
“The addition of this suite will provide a great experience for nursing mothers flying to/from Lexington,” said Eric Frankl, president & CEO of Blue Grass Airport. “We realize that it can be challenging for mothers when they travel, and we hope this new facility will ease that process and provide them with a comfortable and private location. This is our way of wishing our guests a happy Mother’s Day!”

Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
