Mike Chwelos bids farewell after serving seven years on FMAA board

Fort McMurray, AB – The Fort McMurray Airport Authority’s (FMAA) Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board is pleased to announce Staci Millard as the new Chair of the FMAA Board of Directors.

Mike Chwelos announced his retirement last week. “We are extremely grateful for Mike’s time served as FMAA Chair. He has been an integral part of the leadership team for the past five years. His guidance navigating the challenges the organization has faced due to the economic downturn and effects of the pandemic has been invaluable,” says Denean Robinson, President & CEO, FMAA. “On behalf of Team YMM, we wish him all the best.”

Millard has been an FMAA Board member since her appointment in 2020. She has been a member, and for the past two years Chair, of the Governance Committee.

“The ELT is thrilled Staci has accepted the role as FMAA Board Chair. She is a true leader, with a skillset well-suited to support the important work and strategic planning required of the FMAA Chair,” says Robinson.

Millard has been a Fort McMurray Wood Buffalo resident for 11 years. She has a successful entrepreneurial track record, owning and operating S. Millard Chartered Professional Accountant for over nine years prior to her latest venture, working as a Fractional CFO for small businesses. “It’s my great honour to take on the role,” says Millard. “I look forward to collaborating with the board and ELT over the upcoming four years to take YMM to new heights.”
