Grand Rapids, Mich. – There are now more ways to connect with the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GFIA) thanks to a new mobile app the airport released today.
The app features real-time flight departure and arrival information, updates on parking availability at the airport, and security wait times. Additionally, amenities such as food and beverage locations, kids play areas, nursing rooms, and the military welcome center are featured on the app. Additionally, passengers can connect with airport ground transportation options available at the airport.
“We are excited to be able to give our travelers another way to connect with us, and make way-finding around the airport easier and faster,” said GFIA President & CEO Jim Gill. “Before you leave
your home or office you can have key airport information readily available at your fingertips to make your travel experience better.”
Passengers and guests using the app are encouraged to interact with the airport and give feedback through the app, and they can connect to the airport’s social media channels.
The app is free and is available on Android and IOS.
Fairbanks International Airport Baggage Transport Conveyor Enhanced With Mod Drive™ System
Airports face a host of unique industry challenges, such as meeting efficiency regulations and seeking out the best maintenance practices to reduce costs and keep operations flowing. In today’s current economic climate, any potential cost savings can go a long way.
In 2019, Alaska’s Fairbanks International Airport (FAI) sought to modernize its equipment and operations. They were dissatisfied with the performance of the gearmotors on their baggage transport conveyors and began searching for new suppliers. Regal approached FAI with a solution that could improve equipment performance and simplify maintenance, with the added benefit of energy cost savings: the Hub City® MOD Drive™ system.
